He graduated from Ridgewood High School, Ridgewood, New Jersey in June 1963, and received a B.A. in Political Science from St. Michael’s College in Winooski, Vermont in June 1967. After some post-graduate work at St. Louis University in St. Louis, Missouri, he joined the Air Force in April 1969. While in the Air Force he served in Vietnam and Thailand in the Intelligence Field; then he became a Missile Launch Officer stationed first in Japan, then in Korea and finally in Taiwan.

Brother Albert joined Maryknoll on August 25, 1980 at Maryknoll, New York, and professed his First Oath on May 8, 1981. He was assigned to the Middle East for his Overseas Training Program (OTP). He spent two years in Rome studying Arabic and Islamics, and three summers and his final year of OTP in Egypt. During his OTP experience, which he completed in June 1985, Brother Albert came to the conclusion that he could make a valuable contribution to the people in the Middle East if he were to study nursing. Upon completion of his integration year, he was assigned to the U.S. Region and to further education in nursing.

Brother Albert received his Master’s Degree in Nursing from Pace University in 1988, and after one year of hospital experience, he was assigned to the Middle East Unit in September 1989. He worked at a nursing home, the “Four Homes of Mercy” on the West Bank during Desert Storm, and he continued his work there, which was primarily with severely impaired adolescents, after the war ended.

The Middle East Unit was closed down at the end of 1998, and on March 1, 1999 Brother Albert was assigned to the U.S. Region. He worked with Father Arthur Dwyer doing research of the Founders of Maryknoll and their Charism. He participated in the Spiritual Renewal Program in the Holy Land in 2000, and served as Executive Secretary of the Chapter Preparation Committee for the Eleventh General Chapter.

In January 2003 Brother Albert was assigned to the Latin America Region. He resided in Cochabamba, Bolivia and worked at the Cochabamba Center for Rehabilitation (CERECO). He was assigned to the Retirement Community (now Senior Missioner Community) in 2010, and took up residence at the Society Center in Maryknoll, New York. Brother Albert had an interest in computers and was always willing to assist Members at the Center with computer and technical difficulties.

Brother Albert is survived by his brother, Brian Patrick, and his sister, Parthenia Ann Patrick, as well as many nieces and nephews.
