Father Cyril A. Gombold, MM

Cyril A. Gombold was born in St. Paul, Minnesota on December 13, 1916. His early education was in Catholic Schools in St. Paul. He entered the Venard in 1929. He was ordained on June 21, 1942 and assigned to the Hawaiian Islands. With the exception of furloughs and a sick leave this was the field of his zealous mission activities up to the time of his death.

In 1966 Father Gombold was elected a delegate to the Fifth General Chapter.

Father Cyril died in Hawaii. After a funeral Mass held in St. Anthony’s Church, Kailua, Father was buried on May 3, 1971 in the Maryknoll plot of Diamond Head Cemetery, Honolulu.
