Thomas A. Barry was born in Roxbury, Mass, on November 4, 1909. He received his early education in Our Lady of Perpetual Help School in Roxbury and Boston College High School.

He entered the Venard in 1924 and was ordained on June 16, 1937.

He was assigned to Japan where he has been until the present time with the exception of the war years 1942-45. He was interned with other Maryknollers and repatriated on the Gripsholm in 1942. During the rest of the war years he worked in Detroit promotion.

Father Barry died in Tsu-whi, Mie-Ken, Japan. Funeral and burial were there.
