Sr. Mary Sabina died on October 23, 1927 at the age of 28. She was a Maryknoll Sister for 6 years.
Mary Lucille Kennedy was born in Emington, Illinois on May 10, 1899 to John and Marcella Kennedy. She graduated from St. Joseph’s Academy in Bloomington, Illinois. She was a student at St. Clara College in Sinsinawa, Wisconsin when she entered Maryknoll on August 3, 1921 at age 22. She made her first vow on April 19, 1924 and her final profession on the same date in 1927, both at the Motherhouse. For more than a year before her death, Sister Sabina was very ill. She died a few short months after her profession. In her time at Maryknoll, Sister was described as a good religious, observant of her rule, faithful to community exercises and generous in offering her time and services to others.
Fr. James A. Walsh, Society Superior, presided at Sr. Sabina’s Mass of Christian Burial on October 26, 1927.
