Accreditation Statement – Maryknoll School of Theology:
In 1952, Maryknoll Seminary discontinued its undergraduate program and became exclusively a graduate school of theology. Its absolute Charter was granted by the Board of Regents of the University of the State of New York in 1953. In 1971, the Seminary was granted amendment of its Charter authorizing it to include in its programs not only candidates for the priesthood but also women and men seeking theological education and preparation for a wide variety of Christian ministries. In 1979, an amendment of the Charter changed the name of the Seminary to Maryknoll School of Theology. The school closed in 1995.
