On this World Day of Social Justice, Maryknoll Sister Janice McLaughlin‘s words on injustice and how we can respond are particularly poignant. It is an excerpt from her article Spirituality of Justice “reflections on the call to a ministry of justice.”
“In each of our lives, I believe there is a moment when our eyes are opened; when we become aware of a specific injustice and are faced with the dilemma of what to do about it… For most, this awakening will be the beginning of a gradual growth in awareness and an integration of action for justice in their daily lives – nothing dramatic or heroic, but a day to day response to the needs of others…”
