The Christmas season is upon us! Christmas is less than two weeks away, and the holiday spirit grows brighter every day. Excitement for upcoming gatherings with friends and family fill the spirit with joy because there is something wonderful about sharing this time of year with the ones you love. However, whether it be distance or timing, one can never quite see everyone that they would wish to. But that doesn’t mean sharing the happiness of the season is impossible. While we cannot always be together, we can send our glad tiding in holiday cards and letters. I can’t help my excitement when checking the mailbox during this time of year in the hopes of holiday cards from friends and family! Even when we can’t be there, we can still send our love. Here are a few holiday messages from missioners that found themselves far away from home during the holiday season. Please click on the images to see them enlarged.

Letter from Sr. Margarita Jamias, MM to friends, Nicaragua, Christmas 1995:

Excerpt from Lay Missioner Newsletter, Terra Santa (Holy Ground), Brazil, December 2003:

“[We] send out deepest gratitude and warmest Brazilian style double-sided cheek kisses and hugs across the miles to you and your family this Advent, Christmas, Holiday season. We pray for peace with you. May the Spirit pulsing through each of us inspire us all to be people of Light… wherever we find ourselves in this Holy Ground, Terra Santa. Peace to all you dear people.”
