“I have often thought about how the Church might make clear its mission of being a witness to mercy[.] It is a journey that begins with a spiritual conversion. For this reason, I have decided to call an extraordinary jubilee that is to have the mercy of God at its center. It shall be a Holy Year of Mercy. We want to live this year in the light of the Lord’s words: ‘Be merciful, just as your Father is merciful’ (Lk 6:36).” Pope Francis
In April of 2015, Pope Francis declared that the coming Jubilee year would be a Holy Year of Mercy. This year commenced on December 8, 2015 and will continue until November 20, 2016. In celebration of the year of mercy, the Archives Staff has put together an exhibit highlighting some “Moments of Mercy” Maryknollers have experienced during their time in mission. Below you will see an image of the exhibit we created, as well as links to blog posts made throughout the following weeks, which will focus on each of the stories represented on our display.
